If ti is necessary to replace a gearbox extension seal, the replacement must be lubricated with SAE 90 hypoid oil to prevent possible charing of the lip during early stages of running.

If an oil leak is excessive at this point and is thought to be due to pressurization of the unit, be sure and check that the breather hole in the gearbox top cover is not blocked.
