Safety Recall (Owner's Letter Attached) - Stag

A few cases have been reported on a certain number of Triumph Stags of the throttle sticking in the open position. Under certain circumstances, this could present a safety hazard and, therefore, dealers are requested to remove the throttle lever, part number 155777 and 155782, and polish their related spindle, part of bracket part number 155779, with a medium fine emery cloth (see diagram).

Please also ensure that the throttle cable is routed above the carburetor intake castings as shown on the photo on the reverse side of this bulletin.

The fuel neck filler hose, part number 144745, on a limited number of Stags can split open allowing fuel to spill into the trunk area. You are requested to replace this hose with a later type which is available from your distributor upon request under the same part number, 144745.
