Safety Recall Owner's Letter - Stag

June, 1971

Dear Triumph Owner,

National Traffic and Motor Vehicle Safety Act, 1966, requires our advising you of a recall affecting the safe operation of your Triumph Stag.

A. Possibility exists of the throttle sticking in the open position. Rectification entails removal of the center throttle fulcrum bracket to polish and lubricate its related spindle and checking cable routing. This condition could affect drivers ability to control vehicle. As a precaution until the condition is corrected, we suggest your checking accelerator for smooth action.

B. The fuel filler hose can split allowing fuel to spill into the trunk. Rectification requires replacement of this hose. A split hose could create a potential fire hazard. As precaution until this condition is corrected, visual inspection at fill-up time is recommended.

Please make an appointment with your dealer to rectify these items at no cost to you as soon as possible. The total time involved is approx. 1 1/2 hours. Our apologies for an inconvenience.
